Trombonist and Music Educator Michael Couche has been appointed as Director of the 2026 Youth Music Intensive. His extensive performance and teaching career make him eminently suitable to lead this exciting initiative.

Michael has performed with the Adelaide Symphony Orchestra and numerous semi-professional and community orchestras. He has also taught music for over 30 years and is currently Head of Music at Berwick Secondary College.

“I am very excited to be heading up the 2026 Youth Intensive. We have a great program lined up with two great musical directors, plus tutors from the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra” said Michael.

The 2026 Youth Intensive comprises five days of fun and music with orchestral and choral streams culminating in a combined gala concert.
